This new space, dressed in mint green, is inspired by the aesthetics of a hyper-stylised 1950s historic soft drinks shop that transports visitors to Milan’s Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Between textured walls and ceilings contrasting with a black and white tiled floor, velvet upholstered sofas and armchairs chromatically synchronise with the rest of the space’s elements.
The Prada coffee shop in Harrods, which seems to evoke the visual imagery of Wes Anderson, has a large display at the entrance with pastries and an assortment of Prada branded chocolates, sweets and other treats.
The Caffè then becomes a fusion or collaboration between gastronomy and luxury in which Prada stamps its identity and its distinctive design codes on the interior design as well as on the furniture and tableware. Thus, the hand-overlapping glassware is stamped with the Milanese brand’s famous triangular motif.
LUXURY REINTERPRETED
The menu of this café, located on the ground floor of the luxury shopping centre, is a modern take on traditional Italian cuisine, offering everything from breakfast to lunch and dinner. In this sense, within its extensive designer menu, a series of dishes stand out such as burrata with courgette covered with a mountain of herbs, spaghetti with datterino tomatoes, stracciatella and basil, risottos with saffron and aged parmesan or its seafood dishes with salmon and crab.
Beyond the food, foodie fashionistas can also enjoy breakfasts combining cappuccinos and eggs Florentine, or dinners with tasty pastries with Serrano ham or pizzettes. Desserts such as chocolate tart with raspberry jelly or apricot sacher-torte round off the ostentatious experience with an extensive cocktail menu and/or a constellation of Italian wines.
