This weekend sees the start of Boot Düsseldorf, the world’s leading water sports trade fair, which is held every year in this German city. In its 54th edition, the entire value chain of the nautical industry and services will meet to present new yachts, boats, boards and diving equipment, as well as water sports destinations and charter companies, and there will also be a 65-metre long pool where you can practice Wing-Surfing, a new trendy activity, among others. And because we know that the “sea” is exhausting, we’ve compiled some great restaurants for fine dining in Düsseldorf so you can get your strength back.
Im Schiffchen
This restaurant is a baroque brick house located in the historic centre of Kaiserswerth, just a ten-minute drive from Düsseldorf city centre. One of the hubs of Düsseldorf’s haute cuisine, here you can indulge in delicious and creative French dishes, prepared with top-quality products. Several menu options are available: for €136; with lobster platter, €165; with cheese platter, €154; and with lobster and cheese platter, €183.
Agata’s
An elegant and cosy restaurant with a floral décor that makes the atmosphere even more tranquil. It offers modern, creative cuisine by chef Marcel Foerster. In addition, the restaurant’s staff, supervised by owner Agata, will give you exceptional service and advice on food and wine.
Phoenix
Another great place to eat well in Düsseldorf. Located on the ground floor of the old telephone exchange of the iconic Dreischeibenhaus, PHOENIX Restaurant & Wine Bar is the meeting place in a prime location. For lunch it serves the 5-course Fauna Menu priced at €129. For dinner, the 5-course Flora Menu is available for 120 €. The cuisine, by chef Philipp Wolter, is a modern interpretation of the classics at lunchtime, while in the evening the focus is on selected products.
1876 Daniel Dal-Ben
It is a small restaurant with a Mediterranean lounge atmosphere. It will be your ideal choice if you are looking for a pleasant evening, while enjoying chef Daniel Dal-Ben’s cuisine, based on classic culinary fundamentals with just the right amount of creativity to great effect. From ingredients selected and combined to perfection, he creates dishes that are harmoniously balanced, full-bodied and rich in finesse. His Carpe Diem menu costs €195.
Le Flair
Chef Dany Cerf’s restaurant has an elegant, minimalist design. Its classic French cuisine is captivating due to its perfect execution and the quality of the products selected. It has 2 menus: Menu Tu Moment, consisting of 4 courses, 109 € / 3 glasses of wine +55 €; or 5 courses: 136 € / 4 glasses of wine +70 €. And the Vegetal Menu, consisting of 4 courses, 99 € / 3 glasses of wine +55 €; or 5 courses, 126 € / 4 glasses of wine +70 €.
Anthony’s Kitchen
If you’re looking for something that will surprise you, this is one of the restaurants you must visit in Düsseldorf for fine dining. You won’t eat the same thing twice here, as they change their menu every 2 to 4 weeks in order to offer holistic cuisine that appeals to all your senses. In charge of the concept is Ghanaian-born chef Anthony Sarpong. He offers innovative international cuisine with seasonal influences. This is embodied in two menus. The 5-course ‘The Expedition’ costs 155 € (excluding also the dishes Episode 1 and Episode 5). And the vegetarian ‘Green Journey’, with 5 courses, costs €125 (excluding Episode 1 and Episode 5 dishes).
If instead of visiting Boot Düsseldorf, this weekend you are at Fitur, here are some recommendations for places to eat when you leave Ifema.
